Amani
Amani Children's Home is dedicated to the protection of Tanzania's most vulnerable population: street children.
Amani Children's Home was established in 2001 by local Tanzanians to meet the needs of the rapidly growing population of street children in Moshi and Arusha. They named the new home "Amani" which means "peace" in Swahili. Life on the street is terrifying and dangerous for children, and from the very beginning, Amani has been a heaven of peace for homeless kids.
Amani Childrens Home is commited to reducing the number of children living on the streets in Tanzania by providing a nurturing place for homeless children to heal, grow and learn in addition to providing long-term care. Amani aims to reunite children with their relatives when possible and to equip their families with the tools they need to be self-sustainable. Amani is dedicated to creating a path for each child that leads to a future filled with hope.

Over the course of the past decade Amani Children's Home has rescued hundreds of children from the perils of the life on the streets. Currently, about 90 kids call Amani "home". In addition to the children living at Amani, they support nearly 300 children they have reunified with relatives.

In spring 2005 Asmund Haare visited Tanzania to go on safari and was introduced to Amani Children's Home. The year after Amani management visited Norway and met with Asmund and his board of management team. They agreed on partnership to help raise funds for Amani Children's Home.

Since then employees has made significant donations to Amani through an optional set contribution of their monthly paycheck.
